BTS 2: BECOMING AN ACCOUNTANT

Are you considering a career in Accounting and wondering what it's like to work in an accounting firm?

We went behind the scenes at a family business of Chartered Accountants and registered Auditors, to gain insight into the world of accounting.

Hurkan Sayman & Co was originally founded in 1991 by Ertan Hurer.

Today the accounting firm employs a diverse team of more than 20 people. We had the opportunity to interview Hasan, Matt and Jordan to find out the different roles within an accounting firm, what it is like working as an accountant, and what the different routes are to becoming an accountant.

We found out about the different types of accounting qualifications: ACA and ACCA. We also asked if you have to be good at Maths to become an accountant!
