Civil/Structural Engineering Degree Apprenticeship

Are you fascinated by how buildings stay upright and how underground systems work? 

In this role you’ll supply the technical support to engineers who design and manage construction projects. With projects in various sectors ranging from residential, commercial and the arts. 

Typical duties include office-based work alongside occasional site inspections, producing detailed structural design drawings and documents, making estimates, liaising with clients and the design team, calculations, specifications and more.

If you consider yourself to be a team player who is good at time management, has a proactive attitude and is able to use initiative with confident communication skills - you might just be ideal for this! 


Entry Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 3 A-Levels at Grades A*-C including Maths and Physical Science (Physics or Chemistry) or completed a BTEC National Diploma in a relevant field for the degree.

  • It’s compulsory to start the programme holding a L2 Maths and English qualification (GCSE grade A*- C / 9-4). 

Annual wage: approx £13,500 (this is a guide and will be dependent on employer)

Quantity / Building Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship

In this field you’ll be mainly working on high profile residential and new build commercial projects, hotels, student accommodation, industrial units and retail. Training covers construction technology, appraisal of projects, measurement, cost planning / control, contract practice, admin, business management and project management.

You’ve got a shot at this if you have good communication skills, a strong desire to learn, a proactive mentality with the potential to become a future motivational leader, and a team player with the ability to work well independently.  


Entry Requirements:

  • A-Level grades BBB or equivalent.

  • 5 GCSEs A*-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above). 

Annual wage: approx £18,000 - £22,000 (this is dependent on employer)

Building Services Apprenticeship - Technical

Here you’ll be able to develop your knowledge and understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems within a building. Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget by using project management systems. Assisting on-site with testing and commissioning tasks. As well as producing technical reports, liaising with subcontractors and producing project reports. 

You will need to be a good problem solver who’s extremely focused, with great attention to detail, able to travel and possibly work away from home. 

Entry Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs graded A*- C (9-4) including Maths, English and Science or their equivalent.

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.

  • Passionate and prideful in your work.

Annual wage: approx £14,000 (depending on employer) 

Building Services Apprenticeship - Craft

Get to learn the essentials for industrial and commercial systems such as pipework fabrication and jointing techniques, including prefabricated and / or modularised components and distribution systems. Practice the installation of plumbing and heating systems. Assist with testing and commissioning duties on site. 

If you’re looking for a career within a construction / building services environment, you’re an eager to learn, self motivated individual who enjoys problem solving. This might be something for you! 

Entry requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs of grades 9 - 4 / A*- C including Maths, English and Science or equivalent. 

Annual wage: approx £14,000 (depending on employer)

Construction Formwork Apprenticeship

Build your career from here (pun intended), with something like this you will be contributing to the construction of some of the most iconic buildings and infrastructures.

Doing an apprenticeship like this results in either permanent employment in the role or you can go on to further development in a choice of various construction job opportunities.

All that’s asked of you is that you’re enthusiastic about the field, willing to learn, and a flexible team player. 

Entry requirements: 

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent qualifications. 

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Advantage if you have an understanding of Health and Safety requirements.

Weekly wage: approx £575 (depending on employer)
